Oddity
Oddity is an extra long scarf designed specifically for Patons Classic Wool Worsted in the Palais colorway. This scarf’s chevron shape is defined by Garter stripes, and is bordered with a slipped stitch edge.
I bought this yarn knowing I wanted to knit a scarf, but I didn’t have anything specific in mind beyond that. I knit a swatch (of my own free will) to get my gauge, and then continued on to test out some stitch patterns. After several unsuccessful attempts at producing a scarf pattern I didn’t hate, I set the yarn aside. A couple of days later, I woke up to the news of David Bowie’s passing which hit me a lot harder than I thought. Revisiting his records and looking at my pile of yarn, highlighted with stripes of Ziggy Stardust-esque red and electric blue, inspired me to knit again, and Oddity was born.
