Honeycomb stitches are inherently satisfying. With a few simple stitches you create a complex appearing fabric. By adding in some slipped stitches I have created an almost three dimensional variation on the theme. The texture has a deep squooshiness that is reminiscent of brioche stitch fabric, but it isn’t really brioche.

This depth helped me accomplish my goal of providing a canvas for the intricate speckle dyed yarn from Gale’s Art. The challenge is to make the yarn look just as good knit up as in the skein, and I think I managed to make that happen.

The depth of the texture combined with honeycomb made me think of poor ole Pooh Bear getting himself stuck deep in Rabbit’s door. And what does Pooh say in such a situation? Oh Bother!

This cowl is worked up in the color Meadow. The cowl takes about a skein but can be easily adjusted for size.
