Olaf Jumper
Olaf is a versatile and easy to wear jumper which is both practical and stylish. It features a cosy folded rib neckline, a neat button down front and simple slip stitch details to the raglan shaping.
This jumper is definitely a beginner friendly pattern with a few added techniques to level up your knitting skills! The garment if started flat by knitting the neckline which then progresses into the raglan yoke. A few short rows are worked to create a nice fit around the back and shoulders. When the raglan increases have been completed and the full yoke depth is reached, the sleeves are split and the body is worked in the round to the bottom hem. The sleeves are also knit in the round from the yoke separation and are tapered down to cuff. The technique of knitting from the collar down is super handy as it allows you to add or remove rounds/rows to customise the knit to fit perfectly. The button bands and integrated buttonholes are knit separately using the ‘double knitting’ method and are finished with a ‘Kitchener stitch’ graft at the top of the neck to create a seamless edge and attached to the jumper using mattress stitch. The Olaf jumper is intended to be worn with a ‘standard jumper fit’. Please see size guide for intended fit instructions.
