Old Growth is a large triangular shawl accented with a herringbone stitch pattern. The name was inspired by the beautiful shades of green, gray and purple in the yarn in combination with the parallel lines of the herringbone pattern. Together they are evocative of to me of a deep forrest. The shawl is knit from side to side. It begins with a tubular cast on and finishes with a tubular cast off. A simple pattern of alternating knits and purls are used to create the herringbone sections. All of the herringbone sections are charted.

Finished size: 65.5 inches in width and 25 inches from the center back to the point
