Light and lofty, this easy-to-wear knitted scarf lends a touch of old-world elegance to any ensemble. It’s based on the traditional “Old Shale” lace pattern, with a modern pull-through twist.

Warm enough for west coast winter, perfect for spring breezes or early summer mornings by the ocean. Ideal for a tea party picnic on the bluffs or rambling through a ruined castle.

A great project for novice lace knitters -- you can count the stitches in every row, and the large needles keep it easy to handle.

Pattern uses US size 10 & 8 needles. You’ll also need a stitch holder and a yarn needle.

Knit as written with a single skein, or add a second skein and repeat the main pattern rows to add desired length.

No gauge is specified, since sizing is generalized. If you knit very loosely, consider going down a size to US 9 & 7 so you don’t run out of yarn!
