This shawl is knit from the top down. The stitch is the lovely feather and fan lace which, being such a simple and easily memorized pattern, makes this project a nice introduction to the top down triangle construction.

The pattern is written for fingering yarn, but other weights would work as well. The Noro sock yarn is especially nice because the striping enhances the rolling swells of the lace.
