Reminiscent of the floppy tams worn around the turn of the 20th Century, this simple hat is a quick, fun knit! Add a pom-pom for some flair!

Size:
• One size.
• This hat will fit most adults. It has a very loose fit, and is worn draped on the head (not fitted).
• It should fit heads 21-23in (52-58cm).
• For reference, my head is 22in (56cm).

Needles:
•I used 4.0mm (US size 6) needles and 5.0mm (Us size 8) needles.
•You will need 16in needles in both sizes, and DPNs or 32in needles in the larger size.

Gauge:
Approximately 15 stitches per 4in (10cm) with larger needles (5.0mm, size 8).

Notions:
• Tapestry needle
• 1 stitch marker
• Optional: pom-pom maker

Yarn:
The sample I made used:
• Knit Picks Wool of the Andes (worsted weight, 4 ply, 110 yards per 50g skein, 100% wool), in the colorways “Crane Heather” and “Shire Heather.”

• Any worsted weight yarn will work for this pattern.
• You will need around 150 yards, or 70g for the hat ( 2 balls of “Crane” used in sample).
• You will need around 25 yards, or 10-12g, for the pom-pom ( 11g of “Shire” used in sample).
