There are two different pattern files available on the purchase page.

The original pattern includes 2 sizes, along with a guide on how to adjust the size by changing your gauge. Each size has its own chart.

The new version includes 6 sizes, giving you more sizes to choose from and making it easier to find the size that gives you your preferred fit, without having to rely as much on adjusting your gauge.

I’ve added more detailed explanations and clarifications throughout the pattern. Nothing about the actual construction of the slipover has changed – the extra details are simply there to make the instructions easier to follow and help you knit with greater confidence.

The new pattern file includes just one chart for all 6 sizes, rather than a separate chart for each size. By counting to the correct starting point, you can make sure the stitch pattern is positioned correctly for your chosen size.

So, with the new pattern file, you get 6 sizes instead of 2, more flexibility when choosing the size that gives you your preferred fit, and clearer instructions to guide you through the knitting process – all while knitting exactly the same Oldtimer Slipover.

Oldtimer Slipover

An oversized boxy vest with a traditional two colored pattern, boat neck, splitted hem and a small sleeve.,
Wear it over a shirt, over or under a leather jacket, or for cozy comfort. It comes in two sizes. But its possible to make it larger or smaller with another chosen gauge.

The construction is top-down with a European shoulder. First, the back is knitted down to the armhole. Then sts. are picked up for the left and right shoulders. These two shoulder pieces are joined to form the front piece, which is knitted down to the armhole. The side panels established continue under the sleeves and are kept free of the strandedpattern.

When the relatively long 2x2 ribbing is added, the panel splits into a divided rib, where the back rib can optionally be knitted longer than the front rib. The pattern is knitted according to the chart throughout. Waist shaping can be added to slightly taper the fit. Sts. are picked up for the sleeve – and a 2x2 rib is knitted at the neckline.
