This shawl uses modified stitch patterns from Nancy Bush’s Knitted Lace of Estonia and design inspiration from Evelyn A. Clark’s Knitting Lace Triangles.

It came about when I received a special skein of gift yarn and couldn’t find the right pattern for it. I started designing it right after moving to a new city to start a new job and it helped bring some focus into the chaos of my new life.

It’s named after Olive Branch Jones, the first University Librarian at The Ohio State University, though I think the lace patterns themselves suggest olives, branches, and leaves. Perhaps someday someone will knit a version in scarlet and/or grey!
