The pattern is written using US crochet terminology.
The pattern was fully tested and tech edited.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. The texture of the shawl is achieved mainly through the combination of the basic crochet stitches, front and back post stitches and variations of crossed double crochet stitches.

YARN: #4 Medium Worsted Weight, Aran.
USED HERE: Sirdar Hayfield Bonus Aran Tweed, 752 Herringbone, 1300 m (1422yds).

HOOK: 6 mm US J-10 crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE: 4 pattern repeats (12 sts) x 10 rows = 10 cm (4’’) before blocking.

CONSTRUCTION: The shawl is worked lengthwise, flat, in rows, in one piece. The border is worked in ends of rows on the short sides and with pockets attached later.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Before blocking shawl is approximately: 45 cm / 17.7’’ wide and 165 cm / 65’’ long.
