This pattern is a replica of the socks that my Oma used to knit for our family, and is great for beginners.

I’ve taken the time to word the pattern so that it is easy to understand, and have included detailed instructions for the trickier parts as well as easier options for those who are just getting started with sock knitting.

The women’s large/men’s small is longer and wider than the women’s small/medium, it also has a deeper instep. The original Oma sock has a relatively short gusset, or instep, which I decided to use as is for the woman’s small/medium as it fits quite comfortably on smaller feet.
