These socks will always remind me of a very special trip to Michigan in July 2019. There were many hours spent having amazing conversations with friends, knitting on the porch of an adorable farmhouse we were staying at. We were soaking up every minute together. On the Porch are a play on the simplicity of bold, modern accent stripes, in a classic stockinette sock. The pattern is delightfully uncomplicated so you can knit it wherever you may be, and using up tiny bits of treasured yarns. If you’ve always wanted to try a pair, this is fantastic for your first venture into hand knit socks. ♡♡♡ happy knitting, Friends, Tracie x

Some highlights of the On the Porch sock pattern:

  • cuff down

  • Magic Loop knitting (easily modified to DPNs)

  • Jazzy Stockinette…almost a vanilla sock, but with modern slip stitch colour work knitting. You only use one colour at a time for this. No floats, no complicated yarn management.

  • You can incorporate mini skeins or tiny bits of precious leftover yarns for the stripes.

  • Using a self striping yarn (one stripe can equal one use for a contrast colour)

  • Delightfully uncomplicated, relaxing knitting. Perfect for visiting, travel and just zen knitting. Truly happy knitting!
