These one-of-a-kind throws are put together from luxurious yarns we have in the store (and some that have been discontinued by the manufacturer and/or supplier) to make a unique knitted piece of art for the home. Each kit contains eight different yarns that have been hand-picked for their textures and colours, and priced according to the yarn contained in the kit. Yarns are selected for texture (such as “boa”-style or eyelash yarns, thick-and-thin yarns, ladder yarns, or yarns with a halo), thickness (ranging in thickness from DK weight through chunky weight), sparkle (yarns with built-in sparkle, or sparkle threads that can be held double with another yarn), and loft (smooth yarns like cotton and bamboo yarns mixed with yarns with more loft like alpaca, angora, and mohair yarns). Yarns are NOT held together, but knit separately for at least two rows at a time. This contributes to some yarns being knit at a very loose, airy gauge while others being much more densely knit and giving more texture.

Each kit comes with two patterns and enough yarn to complete one of the patterns: the “stripes” pattern, and the “scallops” pattern. The pattern instructions have which yarn to use in which order, how many rows to do of each yarn and in what pattern, and how to attach a fringe to each side when finished. The scalloped throw has an approximate finished measurement of 40” x 60”, while the striped throw has an approximate finished measurement of 45” x 55” (plus fringe for both).

We also offer a “custom throw” service in the store: bring us a sample of your bedspread, couch cushion, or a picture of the room you’d like your throw to match, or let us know which colours are your favourite. We can put together a few options of custom kits for you, and you can choose your favourite!

These throws make excellent wedding gifts or baby gifts, and we can make options that are fully machine-washable and/or vegan-friendly. Whatever you imagine we can create!
