This is a very simple snood/cowl which uses only one 50g skein of Folkestone Harbour Yarn’s hand dyed Aran pure wool (79m per skein) to make.

This warm but compact snood is perfect for keeping warm without having too much bulk around your neck. The pattern is one size and is completely unisex.

It is a great beginner level project as the maker only needs to know how to knit, purl and cast on & off. By following the written instructions, an interesting textured pattern is created. Gauge is not too important, so don’t worry about that, you shouldn’t run out of yarn.

The colourway used in the sample is ‘Shallows’ blue.

There are other free ‘one skein’ patterns in my Ravelry shop, including an adult to child sized Aran beanie hat.
