Only Leaves Scarf began as a new addition to my Only Scales pattern family, alongside the Cardigan, Vest, and Cowl. But as I knitted the first version, the motifs began to look more like leaves than scales. That is how the name was born.

I called it a scarf because that first version is smaller and can be worn as one. If you prefer a shawl, the pattern explains how to repeat certain sections to make it larger.

Construction
This triangular scarf is worked from the top down, increasing four stitches every other row.

Main Color (MC): Held together with one strand of Yarn A and one strand of Yarn B.

Yarn A: approx. 80 g / 356 yds / 324 m. Suggested yarn: Manos del Uruguay Alegría – 75% merino, 25% Polyamide (445 yds / 405 m – 100 g). 1 skein, color: 2241.Yarn B: approx. 38 g / 356 yds / 324 m. Suggested yarn: Isager Silk Mohair – 75% kid mohair, 25% silk (232 yds / 212 m – 25 g). 2 skeins, color: 2S.

VERSION 2
Yarn A: approx. 76 g / 529 yds / 480 m. Suggested yarn: Julie Asselin Natured Fine – 100% wool (780 yds / 708 m – 112 g). 1 skein, color: Antlers 2.
Yarn B: approx. 40 g / 525 yds / 480 m. Suggested yarn: Julie Asselin Anatolia – 60% kid mohair, 40% silk (330 yds / 300 m – 25 g). 2 skeins, color: Voilier.

BEADS
Recommended bead sizes for DK-weight yarn: Delica 8/0, round 6/0 or square 4 mm.

Bead 1: Miyuki, round 6/0, 1218 beads units, color: 4201.

GAUGE
18 sts x 26 rows = 4” / 10 cm. Measured in stockinette stitch, worked flat with N1 and MC, after blocking.

Needles and Cables
Main Needle (N1): US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle. Cable: 32” / 80 cm long.
Notions
Crochet hook for beading US 14/10 – 0.75 mm, row counter (recommended), 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Only Leaves Pañoleta nació como una nueva incorporación a mi familia de patrones Only Scales, junto al cárdigan, chaleco sin mangas y cuello. Pero mientras tejía la primera versión, los motivos comenzaron a parecerse más a hojas que a escamas. Así nació su nombre.

Lo llamé pañoleta porque la primera versión es más pequeña y puede llevarse como una pañoleta. Si prefieres un chal, el patrón explica cómo repetir ciertas secciones para hacerlo más grande.
