If you enjoyed knitting my Oma’s Sokken pattern, you’ll love this simple variation which I’ve called Opa’s Sokken. The simple ribbed pattern is fun and easy and is great for both beginner and experienced sock knitters.

The pattern is written for dpns but can be adapted for magic loop or circular needles. Opa’s Sokken have a traditional heel flap and gusset, though you can easily substitute your preferred heel.

This pattern works well with speckled, tonal, or self-striping yarn and wold make a great scrappy project too!

Whether you plan to knit a pair to keep your feet cozy around the campfire this summer, or start on your Christmas gift knitting, I hope you’ll cast on a pair with me!
