Opera Cat
Welcome to the Phantom of the Opurra and Christeeny Beans’ big debut!
This is my second ever pattern release, and I’m so excited to share my love of cats, musicals, and puns with you.
Here are some important things to know about the pattern:
Skill Level: Intermediate
Crochet Time Estimate: 6-11 Hours, according to my testers
Materials:
• Sport (#2) Weight Yarn (preferred brand: YarnArt Jeans which is made of soft denim in so many colors! – I used less than 1 skein/160m/174yds of each)
o White– main fur & tail stripes
o Gold – right arm, right outer ear, face and back splotches, & main tail color
o Dark Brown – hair
o Cream – corset top
o Beige – skirt & corset lace
o Light Pink – inners ears and nose embroidery
o Black – whiskers and mouth embroidery
o Silver – skirt and hair embroidery adornments
• 2.00 mm Crochet Hook
• 2 10 mm Safety Eyes (I used ones with brown color irises, but you can use a slightly smaller safety eye and embroider the iris instead!)
• (Optional) Beads/Jewels to add to hair & skirt embroidery adornments
• Stuffing (polyfil or yarn scraps, both work as the stitches are tight and nothing will show through)
• Embroidery Sewing Needle that fits sport (#2) weight yarn
• Sewing Scissors
• Stitch Markers (I use safety pins because they are cheaper and easier to maneuver personally)
It’s highly recommended to use Sport (#2) yarn and a 2mm hook with even tension in order to make sure the splotches fall in the correct places. If you use a different yarn weight or hook, you will most likely have to adjust the pattern accordingly to get the splotches in the right spots
Finally, I worked really hard on this pattern and have priced it low to accommodate both me as the designer and you as the crafter! Please do not share, distribute, or copy this pattern, as it would be stealing from a small artist. You MAY however sell your finished doll as long as my Instagram @skeinedbymarlow is tagged and a link to my Ravelry store is listed in the item description.
I would also LOVE to see your finished doll if you post to Instagram, so please tag me and use the hashtags #skeinedbymarlow , #christeenybeans , and #phantomoftheopurra .
If you have any questions about the pattern, please don’t hesitate to message me on Ravelry or Instagram. Please enjoy!!!
