This is a lace beanie decorated with crochet flowers.
The flowers are optional, you can use any ornament you like, either flowers in different colours or buttons or whatever forms your imagination chooses.
The crochet flowers are easy to make even for a crochet beginner, there is a chart and stitch legend included.

The available sizes are toddler, child, teenager, adult and the finished measurements are 15 (17, 19, 21) inches / 38 (43, 48, 53) cm.

Gauge: there are two gauges as lace depends on the yarn used, and it may happen that right stockinette gauge will not get the required size. Be sure to get the lace gauge right.

  • 27 sts and 36 rows make 10x10cm (4x4inches) of stockinette stitch using 3.0mm (US 2) needles (or size needed to obtain gauge), be sure to test swatch for gauge.
  • 21sts and 38 rows in lace motif using 3.0mm (US 2) needles (or size needed to obtain gauge), blocked.

Yarn Suggested: 30-60g / 110-220 yards of a fingering / sock / 4 ply (14 wpi) yarn, a shiny and stretchy one should make the lace stand out and look more elegant.

Difficulty: intermediate, you must be familiar with knitting in the round and basic lace stitches: decreasing and increasing.
