This is an infinity scarf in garter stitch. It is made mostly from a scrap ball (or scrap skein) consisting of leftover glitter yarns which are cut and made into a single length with Russian joins. It has a crocheted trim which can be made from the same scrap ball, or from normal yarn. The length of the infinity scarf is adjustable. The scrap-ball fabric has a glittery, shabby-chic and folksy appearance, which is part of the character of this design.

Requirements

  • Yarn: 300g (900m/984yd) of any DK or 8 ply glitter yarn of at least 2 colours, made into a scrap ball as described in the pattern. The 300g includes 250g of scrap ball yarn for the main section, and some scrap ball yarn or normal dk yarn for edging.

  • Needles: Circular needle and set of four or five 9in (23cm) dpns: metric size 5mm, US size 8, UK/Canada size 6. Two circular ndls could be substituted for the dpns.

  • Stitch markers: four, including one different one to indicate beginning of round

  • Crochet hook: metric size 5mm, US size 8, UK/Canada size 6. This is for crochet edging.
