Ora-shawl is first knitted sideways to form a long shallow triangle. An eyelet lace section with beads is knitted top down after picking up stitches from the lower edge of the triangle. The lace edging is knitted sideways, leaving only 9 stitches to bind off.

Yarn:

200 g of fingering weight yarn in two colours (100 g of each), 400 m/ 437 yds per 100 g.

The sample was knitted with Chester Wool Company Merino Silk Singles, 70% merino/30% silk, 400 m/437 yds per 100 g.

The yardage is an estimate, the sample shawl used both skeins, 7 g left of each colour.

Needles etc:

100 cm/ 40”or longer circular needle in size 3.75 mm/ US 7
35 g of 6/0 seed beads
stitch markers
crochet hook or floss for adding beads
tapestry needle to weave in ends
