The Orbits Cowl features the same colourwork pattern as the Orbits sweater, which was the fourth design in my Einaudi Collection – knitwear patterns inspired by pieces of music written by Ludovico Einaudi. The patterns capture the mysterious, repetitive yet delicate essence of the piece of music called “Orbits”.

SAMPLE
The wearer is 5’10” / 178 cm with a 37” / 92.5cm chest circumference. The sample has been worked to pattern, without modification.

SIZING GUIDE
The accessory is written in one size.
All of the following measurements are for the finished cowl:
Colourwork circumference: 26.25” / 65.5 cm.
Cowl Height: 13.25” / 33.5 cm.
Options to customise the cowl height are written into the pattern.

GAUGE
Using 4 mm / US size 6 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 22 stitches over 26 rounds in both stockinette stitch and colourwork, blocked, creates a 4x4”/10x10 cm square.
Ribbed circumferences assume you are working 6 sts per 1” / 2.5 cm.

YARN
The sample has been worked using two fingering-weight yarns held double:
Main colour: Grenouille Co’s 4ply Sock base (75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon; 400 m / 438 yds per 100 g) in colourway Lampblack.
Contrast Colour: The Urban Purl’s BFL Decadence base (55% BFL / 45% Silk; 400 m / 438 yds per 100 g) in colourway Ruse Stone.
Gauge can also be achieved working with DK weight yarn.

YARDAGE
For fingering weight yarn held double:
MC: 502 m / 549yds / 125 g
CC: 220m / 241yds / 55 g

For DK weight yarn:
MC: 251 m / 275 yds / 125 g
CC: 110 m / 120 yds / 55 g
