Originally designed for the Miss Babs Inspired Adventures Club

This shoulder-warming cowl/poncho was inspired by the Orkney Hood, an ancient textile found in a peat bog in Orkney. This has a tall cowl neck instead of a hood that can be pulled up and over your head and shorter fringe. The stitch patterns were inspired by stone carvings found during archaeological excavations at the Ness of Brodgar – a Neolithic site in Orkney.

Sizes and Yardage
S/M (700 yards) - Approximately 47” around the lower edge; 21” around the cowl neck after blocking
