‘Oreum’ is a Jeju Island dialect that means the ‘mountain’.
Jeju is home to over 300 oreums.
This sweater looks like Jeju’s Oreum. It’s completed in various sizes so that anyone of all ages can wear it That’s why I designed it.

The Oreum sweater is a top-down raglan-structured Aran-patterned sweater,
worked from the neck downward. The sweater begins with casting on stitches and
working flat to shape the neckline. Once the neckline shaping is complete,
the sweater Transitions to circular knitting, combining the front and back panels
with both sleeves.
(After casting on, raglan increases are worked continuously until the armhole.)
When increases reach the armhole, the sleeves ard separated.
Sleeve stitches are set aside temporarily while the body is completed in the round.
After finishing the body, the sleeves are picked up and worked in the round, with
regular decreases, to the cuffs. Finally, stitches ard picked up at the neckline to knit
a double-layer ribbed collar for a neat finish.
The pattern includes a combination of written instructions and charts for each size.
It is essential to follow both the written pattern and the corresponding charts while knitting. - The general knitting order is explained in the written instructions.
-The raglan increases before sleeve separation are fully charted, but after sleeve separation, the underarm’s repeating moss stitch(1 stitch, 2 rounds) is not included
in the charts.
- Instructions on how th read the charts are detailed in the written pattern,
so be sure the carefully read both before starting.

This sweater is designed with raglan increases to create approximately 15-20cm of positive ease around the chest for a comfortable fit.
the model’s chest circumference is 85cm and is wearing size 3 (Cobalt blue) and size 4 (Sage Khaki) in the photos.

’오름’은 산을 뜻하는 제주도 방언이에요. 제주엔 300여개의 크고 작은 오름들이 있어요
이 스웨터는 제주의 다양한 오름들처럼, 다양한 사이즈로 완성해서 남녀노소 누구나 입을 수 있도록 디자인해봤습니다.

오름스웨터는 위에서 아래 방향으로 떠 내려가는 탑다운 레글런 구조의 아란무늬 스웨터에요
차트가 포함된 서술형 도안으로 서술과 차트를 모두 함께 보며 떠야합니다! 한파일에 서술형과 차트형 도안이 함께 들어있어요.
목 고무단은 겹단으로 마무리하는데,
서술형으로 쉽게 풀어져 있지만 혹시나 어렵게 느껴지실 경우 참고할 수 있는 영상링크도 남겨놨습니다 :)

원작실은 솜솜뜨개 ‘머랭’을 사용했어요.
완성된 편물을 봤을 때 콘사가 아닌 잘 가공된 볼실로 뜬 니트처럼 무늬가 통통하고 퐁실퐁실하게 잘 나오는 실이에요.
맨살에 입어도 까끌거리는 느낌이 없어서 스웨터 만드는데 가장 적합한 실이라고 생각해요.
오름스웨터의 테스트니팅은 각자 다른 다양한 컬러의 머랭으로 완성되었어요.

♪ 탑다운 방식
요즘 탑다운 도안에서 가장 많이 사용하는 경사뜨기기법이 아닌, 평면뜨기로 코를 늘려주며 넥파임을 만들어주는 방식이에요.
경사뜨기가 없지만 경사뜨기가 있는? 그런 도안입니다.

♪ 난이도 ‘중’
처음 넥파임을 하는 부분이 살짝 어렵게 느껴질 수 있지만, 서술형과 차트형에 제시되어있는 방향 길잡이들을 참고하여 이해한다면
크게 어렵지 않을꺼에요. 레글런 늘림을 하면서 반복되는 아란무늬를 쉽게 외울 수 있어요
소매분리를 한 후엔 차트 도안을 보지 않더라도 쉽게 뜰 수 있을꺼에요.
