This rustic crescent-shaped shawl, the second pattern in the New Zealand series, is fashioned after a couple of my favorite beaches on the Hibiscus Coast. Orewa Beach is long with a slight curve, the ocean here safe and calm, the water not dangerously deep. Eyelets are placed for the vast number of Cat’s Eye shells that we found and gathered on Red Beach, the lace edging is for the gentle waves breaking upon the shoreline.
