Origami Sweater Spring
Paper folding technique where several sheets are arranged into interesting shapes is a very entertaining game for people of all ages. But do you know that with similar technique, you can create a sweater that requires minimum of shaping and uses creative and practical approach to crochet a garment?
If you already made garments top-down, bottom-up and look for something unusual you might admire this idea. The construction of this sweater is very simple: front, back and sleeves are worked back and forth as the same 4 parts. Thus, each new part will be crocheted faster because you already have relevant experience. Then everything is folded (as in origami) and sewn together.
Length of sweater 61 cm (24’’), model is 175 cm (5’9’’) tall.

This crochet tutorial includes:

This crochet sweater is provided for sizes:
XS-S with bust circumference 82-87 cm (32.5-34.5’’), hip up to 91 cm (36’’)
M with bust 92-97 cm (36.5-38’’), hip up to 101 cm (40’’)
L with bust 101-106 cm (40-42’’), hip up to 111 cm (43.5’’)
XL-2XL with bust 110-115 cm (43-45’’), hip up to 119 cm (47’’)
2XL-3XL with bust 120-125 cm (47-49’’) hip up to 129 cm (51’’)
If you are between the sizes, for example your bust is 89 cm = 35‘’ choose a closest smaller size.
Level: intermediate.
Yarn: The sample shown was made with Bella by Debbie Bliss. Substitutes: drapey yarn like cotton/bamboo, cotton/silk, cotton/rayon or linen/bamboo, linen/silk, linen/rayon 8 ply (UK), DK-weight = Light = 3 (USA); 185-240 m in 100 gr (202-260 yards in 3.5 oz). Suitable brands: Secret-Garden by Scheepjes, Piper by Debbie Bliss, Sigma by Lang Yarns, Mulberry-Silk-DK by Expression Fiber Arts etc.
