This adorable little cardigan is a companion piece to my Verity Cardigan. The cabled detail and special yarn make the Orlando Cardigan an heirloom knit for a treasured baby.

Light fingering weight yarn, super striking cables. Yes, it’s quite an involved knit, but the results are truly stunning. You will really wow people at your next baby shower with this little garment!

The Orlando Baby Cardigan originally appeared in Knit Now Magazine. The pattern and chart have been professionally tech edited and test knit.

Construction
The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning with a raglan increase yoke. A cable panel is worked down both fronts. Sts are held for the sleeves and knitting continues on the body; sleeves are then worked in the round from the top down. Stitches are picked up along the fronts for button bands.

Work the cable pattern from charts or written instructions, whichever you prefer.

Resizing for child sizes
Note: knitting at 22 sts/4” (typical DK weight gauge), but following stitch counts for 3m (6m, 12m, 18m, 24m) will give a cardigan sized to fit approx. 2 years (4y, 6y, 8y, 10y) with 2-4” ease.
