During the Allover exhibition at the Shetland Museum, I kept being drawn to a particular style of jumper seen in several of the pictures: shaded diamonds in browns with a bright motif. I wanted to take this traditional style, often used in men’s jumpers, and reinterpret it in a simple tube cowl. Then, I decided to create a completely different second colourway to show how Shetland knitting is always evolving, constantly in motion and changing, without forgetting where it came from.
