This long, tall cowl is based on the simple but elegant Ostrich Plumes stitch pattern from page 278 of Barbara Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns. The stitch pattern is set in panels between several rows of garter stitch. Though a long cowl seems appropriate given the stitch’s namesake, it can be knitted as long or as wide as you wish. Gauge isn’t critical for this project.
