This is ONLY a chart. This pattern is less a pattern and more a guide, hence it being free.

you can use any size needle and any size yarn as this is essentially a wall hanging, though you could use it as the body of a shirt or a pillow or a VERY big cowl

the one i made used fingering weight yarn, size 1 us needles, and measures 36 inches wide and 17.25 inches high

the chart is 250 sts and 165 rows
This means that if your gauge has X sts per inch (not 4 inches), then your item should be Y inches wide

In order to knit this pattern you need to either do intarsia or Ladderback Jacquared (LBJ).

LBJ is super simple and, i think, a lot easier and neater than intarsia. If you do intarsia you’ll need to knit it flat.
