Our Lady of Mt. Carmel crochet mini doll
This is a digital crochet pattern. This is not a crochet doll.
This pattern is a US crochet pattern for this Our Lady of Mt. Carmel mini doll. The 5 ½ inch doll is fun to make and even more fun to give away. They use minimal amounts of yarn, so your skeins go a long way.
I am a tight crocheter, so my gauge with a 4mm hook runs 10 sc and 9 rows for a 2” swatch.
This pattern offers step by step pictorial instructions along with a slimmed down simplified version for the main crochet items. The use of basic crochet terms like sc, dc, inc, dec, MR, should make it easy for the semi beginner. Working in the round is also a must.
You can use whatever yarn you like, but be consistant in your crochet pieces for the size factor. The only yarn I really recommend is the Vanna’s Choice in Mustard for the crown. It is thick enough to hold its shape, where as other yarns just kind of flop on the head.
The yarn I used:
Big Twist Value Chocolate Brown - body and scapular
Big Twist Value White - baby Jesus
Red Heart Buff - head
Big Twist Value Chocolate Cream - cape
Caron Simply Soft White - Veil (5.5mm hook)
Vanna’s Choice Mustard - crown
