Visit my group, Heather Anderson Designs, and let’s knit!

I wanted to design a shawl that was bright, cheerful, and felt like a big hug. This cozy semicircular shawl is the perfect canvas for your favorite gradient. Let the bright colors burst out of the darkness to capture the attention they deserve, or go for a more sophisticated look with neutrals. You may choose to finish off the top of the shawl with an applied i-cord edge.

Finished size: approximately 59” wide x 25” deep (150 x 63 cm) after blocking

Materials:
• 2 colors of worsted or aran weight yarn, such as Lamb’s Pride Worsted (MC) and Crystal Palace Yarns Mochi Plus (CC)
Main color 500 yds (457 m), Contrasting color 175 yds (160 m)
• US Size 9 (5.5 mm) 32” (81 cm) or longer circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• US Size 7 (4.5 mm) straight or circular needle for garter tab start only
• Stitch markers (one removable to mark RS of fabric)
• Tapestry needle
• Optional applied i-cord edge will require 10 yds of MC yarn and one US Size 9 (5.5 mm) dpn

Note: This shawl may be worked with lighter or heavier weight yarns. If you change the yarn weight, make sure that you choose
a needle size that gives you the drape you desire in the fabric. Yardage requirements will change based on yarn weight and gauge.
