Outcrop is a yoked sweater with all-over colourwork featuring geometric patterns inspired by the shapes, angles and textures found on rock outcrops, particularly those found on the cliff faces of the Irish Atlantic Way. The centre front panel represents a deep crevice running vertically through a rock face and the colourwork patterns repeated around the rest of the garment explore the shapes and textures found in rock formations.

SAMPLE
The sample is worked in size M, giving the wearer 6” / 15cm of positive ease at the chest circumference. An extra 1.5” / 4cm of length has been added to the body length by working Chart R1-12 of the Optional: Longer Body Chart and 0.75” / 2cm of length has been added to each sleeve by working one repeat of Chart R36-41 of the Lower Sleeve Chart. Sleeves have been worked with the extra 6 st option, giving an upper arm sleeve circumference of 14” / 35cm.

SIZING GUIDE
This garment is graded into sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). Recommended positive ease is 3-10” / 7.5-25cm according to personal preference.
Chest Circumference: 36.5 (40.25, 44, 47.75, 51.5) (55, 58.75, 62.5, 66.25)“ / 91 (101, 110, 119.5, 129) (137.5, 147, 156, 165.5) cm.

GAUGE
Using 3.25mm / US size 3 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 26 stitches over 32 rounds in stockinette stitch, blocked, creates a 4x4”/10x10cm square.

YARN
Outcrop has been designed using Life in the Long Grass’ Singles base using the colourways Blue Dusk (main colour) and Jade Grey (contrast colour). The Singles base is 100% Superwash Merino, with 366m / 400yds per 100g.

ERRATA:
On p.6, the right-hand label of the chart should indicate that Chart R1-20 is recommended for sizes XS-M (rather than sizes XS-L) and Chart R1-30 is recommended for sizes L-5XL to match the written instructions above.
However, it is worth noting as well that any of the sizes can work either yoke depth as preferred.

On p.10, the bottom left hand chart should be labelled as the extra 6 sts for the LEFT sleeve, not the RIGHT sleeve.
