The Outlander Cowl is worked from the top down. It is worked in the round using the yarn of your choice. I designed this pattern to be used with different weights of yarn. This pattern compliments hand dyed, solid and hand-spun yarn.

The Outlander Cowl is meant to be worn as a cowl draped once around your neck or over your shoulders.

My pattern represents the yardages needed based on the test knits. The DK / Sport weight version can also be knit the same as the Fingering version. However at this time I don’t have updated yardage for that version. So if you would like to do that option you might want to purchase an additional skein of yarn until I add an update.

SKILLS REQUIRED
You must be able to: knit, purl, yarn over, increase, knit in the round.

Special Note- you can knit Part 1 to your desired length either shorter or longer than the pattern calls for.
The amount of stitches you have on your needles must be able to be evenly divided by 8 before starting Part II
(for example 120, 128, 136, 144, 152, 160, 168, 176, 184…ect).

I hope you enjoy this knit as much as I have! I can’t wait to see everyone’s versions of it. Happy Knitting!
