I love the drape of shawls and the warmth that they provide, but I do not always want the bulk around my neck. This design fills this niche. Using less than 200 yards of a DK or worsted weight yarn, this accessory has enough texture to provide interest when knit in a solid or semi-solid color, but can also handle the wild variations of a variegated or speckled yarn. I believe it could also be quite stunning knit in handspun.

In bringing my first design to life, my perspective on my knitting and my own creativity has evolved. Not only do I have both a new Outlook to wear, but a new outlook on myself.

Errata There is a slip marker missing from row 2 of the flat stockinette portion. This should read Row 2 (RS): “K3, M1R, K to first marker,
M1L, sm, K1, sm, M1R, K to last 3 stitches,
M1L, K3.” This has been corrected in the lasted version.
