Interspersed with rows of dandelion stitch these mittens can be playful if worked from laceweight yarn in different colours or really sweet if you choose a single colour yarn. The laceweight fabric only forms the outer layer and covers inner mittens in aran weight that keep the wearer’s hands warm. The outer lacy mittens can be taken off to protect them from the harsher impacts of winter, e.g., if you fancy a snow battle.

Outside Childhood is the last out of three patterns from the Lace Mittens for Snow Battle e-book.

The mittens can be made in four sizes: S, M, L, and XL. To ensure a very comfortable fit the thumb gusset of the inner mittens is worked using the ‘Life Line’ gusset method, with the lace mittens snug over them.
