I’ve always admired stranded mitten designs with stripes of color that run continuously from the cuff, around the hand, over the thumb, and back to the cuff. One day, the idea popped into my head, “Wouldn’t it be fun to have a cable running around the edge of a mitten?”

It took several tries to get the tip of the hand and the tip of the thumb just right, but I’m thrilled with the results.
