Owl Post is a charming ornament perfect for the magic fan in your life!

This pattern is knitted in the round on double pointed needles. The body in knitted as a piece, and then stitches are picked up for the legs. The feet and wings are knitted separately and sewn on to the body. Full instructions are also given for the felt envelope and seal.

Finished size using 4ply yarn and 2.5mm needles is approximately10cm/4 inches from top of head to bottom of envelope.

Gauge is not crucial for this project, but your knitting must be tight enough that stuffing won’t show between the stitches.

Please note - This pattern uses some advanced techniques (disappearing loop cast on, short rows, i-cord) and involves manipulating small parts, so it is best suited to experienced knitters.

The pattern gives instructions for knitting a Snowy Owl but other breeds could be made by using different colours and adapting the facial embroidery.
