The Oyster Bay shawl is worked semi-loosely on chunky yarn from the top down. It has a traditional triangle shape with increases happening on right side/patterened rows. As you work through the repeats you will easily memorize the pattern and likely find that you can work this project without referencing the chart/instructions for the majority of the shawl body.

I designed this shawl as a project to take with me on my train commute. The yarn, a merino alpaca blend, is something I was lucky enough to win from We Are Knitters. I fell in love with it and would recommend trying it out if possible. If not, any chunky solid yarn will work with this design.
