Design:
The cardigan has a motif of a teddy bear on each side. The front, back and sleeves are knitted separately and sewn together. The neckband and ribbed buttonhole bands are added by picking up stitches.

Sizes:
The pattern gives instructions for 5 different sizes: 6-12 months, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, 4-5 years and 6-7 years old. To fit chest: 46, 51, 56, 61 and 66 cms or 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 inches.

Yarn:
The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
Cardigan shown in main picture is for size 2-3 years and knitted using:
Sirdar Snuggly DK in shade: Rice Pudding (446) and Puppy (521)
Stylecraft Special DK in shades Camel (1420), Black (1002) and Lipstick (1246).

Skill:
Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.

Tension:
22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Needles:
Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.

Other requirements:
6 (6, 6, 6, 7) size 15mm buttons
Stitch markers
