Pablo the Paintbrush – Free Paintbrush Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Looking for a fun and unique paintbrush amigurumi project? Pablo the Paintbrush is a simple and creative crochet paintbrush pattern that’s great for beginners and beyond. With minimal sewing and basic shaping, Pablo makes a great stash-busting project or gift for any arty friend.

Originally released in February 2021, this pattern was updated in May 2025 with a fresh design layout and upgraded instructions to match my current standard of patterns. The free version is available to view on my blog, or you can purchase the updated, ad-free PDF here on Ravelry.

Materials Needed

• Yarn: Aran / 10 ply cotton yarn in four colours
• Hook: 3.5mm (or size suitable for your yarn)
• Other Materials: Stuffing, tapestry needle, scissors, stitch marker, black embroidery thread
• Optional: 8mm safety eyes (or embroider the eyes if preferred), scrap white yarn for eye detail

Finished Size

Size will vary based on yarn and hook used. Using Aran cotton yarn and a 3.5mm hook, Pablo measures approximately 26cm/10.2” long by 4cm/1.6” wide.

Gauge

Gauge is not required for this pattern. Just keep your tension consistent throughout.
