Put a bow on it, or tie it in a knot. This hat stays in place when the coastal wind picks up.

MATERIALS
You will find Rowan Finest yarn is a warm blend of merino, alpaca and cashmere. Light and squishy with a touch of wind resistance.

GAUGE
Finished Gauge:
32 stitches and 48 rows to 10 cm (4”) using 2.75mm needles.

NEEDLES
2.75 mm circular needle 40 cm (16”)
2.75 mm double pointed needles for the i-cord and the crown shaping.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS
48 cm (20”) circumference at lower edge
20 cm to from lower edge to shaping with about 4 cm of shaping beyond that.

You will be starting with the i-cord and picking up and knitting stitches from the centre of the cord. This is a bit tricky if you are new to i-cord construction and picking up stitches. You will need good glasses to see the tiny stitches. Your attention to detail will be rewarded.
