Inspiration and construction
I like the rhythm of brioche knitting, for me it has a meditative aspect. The unique part in this brioche scarf is the use of cables placed at certain positions. The rounded end and the cables allow to pull the second end through or you knit a longer version which can be knotted and leaving the ends as a decorative element.
In this pattern you will have several options. Long or short version, on- or two-color brioche and for the body a straight knitted version or a continuously cabled one.
The name comes from the botanical name of peony flowers, which gave me this inspiration.

The used yarns are just some ideas – two threads of a cashmere dreams held together, or knitting with fingering yarn or even using a DK- yarns for a wintery version - there are so many options.

Protopype 1 (short version, one color, body with cables):
1 ball Cashmere Dreams by Lang Yarns (100%Cashmere, 290m/317yards per 25g) held double, used color purple

Prototype 2 (long Version, two color, body straight):
Luxlove by Mme benoir (70% Alpaka, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere, 400m/437yards per 100g) tow colors, here Nachtschatten and a self-dyed light blue, in latter one added some “Make it Blümchen” by Rico. Each color 120 m or 240m for one color.

Needle / hook
3,5mm (US4) cable needle 60cm – or a needle which gives you the required gauge.

Optional 1 stitch marker

Gauge
20 stitches and 36 rows giving 10cm (4”) knitted brioche after washing and blocking.

Inspiration und Aufbau
Ich mag den Rhythmus des Patentstrickens, es hat für mich etwas Meditatives.
Das Besondere an diesem Tüchlein sind die an bestimmten Stellen platzierten Zöpfe.
Das abgerundete Ende und die Zöpfe ermöglichen es, das zweite Ende hindurchzuziehen oder die längere Version, die einmal geknotet werden kann, sodass die Enden als dekoratives Element dienen.
Diese Anleitung bietet verschiedene Möglichkeiten: eine lange oder kurze Version, ein- oder zweifarbiges Patent und für den Hauptteil eine gerade oder durchgehend gezopfte Variante.

Der Name Paeonia bezieht sich auf die Pfingstrosen, die runden Enden des Tuches erinnerten mich an die Knospen.

Die verwendeten Garne sind nur einige Beispiele: Ob zweifädiges Cashmir Lace- Garn, Fingeringstärke oder sogar Kaschmir-DK, wie es z.B Cardiff Cashmere classic bietet – die Möglichkeiten sind vielfältig.

Prototyp 1 (kurze Version, einfarbig, Körper mit Zöpfen):
1 Knäuel Cashmere Dreams von Lang Yarns (100 % Kaschmir, 290 m/317 Yards pro 25 g), doppelt gehalten, Farbe Lila

Prototyp 2 (lange Version, zweifarbig, Körper gerade):
Luxlove von Mme Benoir (70 % Alpaka, 20 % Seide, 10 % Kaschmir, 400 m/437 Yards pro 100 g), zwei Farben, hier Nachtschatten und ein selbstgefärbtes Hellblau, in letzteres habe ich „Make it Blümchen“ von Rico beilaufen lassen. Jede Farbe 120m, einfarbig entsprechend 240m.

Nadel
3,5mm (US4) Rundstricknadel 60cm – oder eine Nadel mit der Du die Maschenprobe erreichst.

20 Maschen und 36 Reihen geben 10cm (4”) im Vollpatent nach dem Waschen und Spannen.
