The Painted Pebbles is an asymmetrical triangular shawl that is designed to let the slub yarn shine. Slub yarn often comes in very colourful choices and paired with a pretty contrasting yarn your shawl becomes a piece of wearable art!!

  • knit with 1 skein fingering and 1 skein fingering slub using complimentary colours.

  • the stripe detail will pop with high contrast yarns or use low contrast yarns for a more subtle and soft look.

  • this shawl is simple and relaxing to knit with no purling.

  • achieving gauge is not critical for this shawl but differences may affect the size and yard yardage needed.

  • techniques used: knit, yarn over, kfb, kfbf, i-cord edging.

  • sample size: height 15”/38cm and wingspan 80”/203cm.

  • yarns used for sample 1: Leo & Roxy 20/80 Sock (MC- 96g, 403 yds/369 m) in the colourway I’d Rather be Blue and Full Moon Fibres Moon Rock Slub (CC- 81g, 355 yds/325 m) in colourway Imposter.
