Clever Potter offers three options here. First, you may make a conventional beret from the brim up in the round with a variegated yarn. Or (more fascinatingly), you may knit the beret in wedges with variegated yarn, which pools the colours more, and makes the crown extremely unusual and artistic to look at. You have to sew the wedges together, but so what? OR, if you’re feeling extra playful and adventurous, you can knit the wedge version and then dye the wedges yourself with a Cherry Tree Hill dye kit (lots of photos provided). Very engaging and attractive no matter which you choose.

This pattern is for an adult medium, HAT MEASURES 9 1⁄2 WHEN LAYED FLAT
