Gather your leftover bits of DK and worsted weight yarns for this stashbusting hat. Slip stitches form the columns with contrasting garter ridge stripes. Customize the colors and play with different shades for each section or try using one main color throughout the entire hat while the contrasting color stripes change. This hat is very quick and easy to make, making it a great knitting gift.

Finished Measurements
19′′ / 48cm brim circumference. 9.5′′ / 24cm from brim to top of hat when the brim is folded.

The hat is shown on a 22.5′′ / 57cm head circumference. Measurements taken after blocking the hat. The hat stretches comfortably to fit up to a 24′′ / 61cm head circumference.

Yarn
DK weight

You can mix DK and worsted weight yarns together for colorful stripes. Also try holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together to create a DK weight thickness.

The MC is the brim and slip stitch columns. CC’s are featured in each sample. The CC’s are the garter ridges stripes.

US 5 / 3.75mm circular in 40′′ / 100cm length or 1 size smaller than main needle

Magic loop method is used for knitting in the rnd.
