Palindrome
Palindrome takes its name from a simple bit of wordplay: a palindrome reads the same backward and forward, and this fabric looks almost the same on both sides. The vertical stitch technique (photo tutorial included in the PDF) creates a fully reversible texture, so there is no wrong side, whichever way it faces, it is the right one. And if you arrange your colors so they mirror each other from the center outward, the stripes read identically in both directions, making your project a true palindrome in stitch and in color.
There is no stranding or slipped stitches anywhere in the pattern; only one color is used per row.

Materials: -3.5 - 4.5mm needles (whichever you’re most comfortable using);
-fingering or sport-weight yarn. You can mix fingering and sport weight in this pattern. For the prototype as shown (40 x 200cm), I used 340g of various sport weight leftovers, exact length is unknown. Use tight spun, non-slitty yarn. Gauge: one repeat is 5cm wide by 9cm tall, with sport weight. Size: you can knit anything rectangular, large or small.
