This soft, light Tunisian crochet baby blanket is worked in rows to form diamonds of reverse honeycomb stitch. Reverse honeycomb stitch is the same as the usual honeycomb stitch, which is alternating Tunisian simple stitch with Tunisian purl stitch, but with the purl stitch worked into the reverse side or back of the vertical bar.

I chose to work the purl stitches in reverse to create a reversible stitch pattern, meaning both sides look like the “right” side of the work. For this blanket pattern, there is clearly a right side and a wrong side, but this way the wrong side didn’t look so… wrong sidey, as many Tunisian crochet patterns do.

This pattern is fairly easy, with only the first few rows being a bit of a pain for some crocheters (meaning me), but once you get going it practically stitches itself. I find it very pleasant and fast to work up.

I hope you enjoy stitching the Palindrome Baby Blanket. Please contact me if you have any questions, and feel free to share photos of your work as a project linked to this pattern page.
