This Pattern & Instruction are on how to crochet Panama hat with sun.
This pattern document includes instructions, in American Standard Terms (You can see conversion table for British terms at the start of the e-book), diagrams and a detailed step by step photo guides that I will show you how to make this cute Hat.

Difficulty level: Advanced Beginner / medium level of difficulty.

Materials:
• Yarn: creamy (for the hat), yellow and red (for the applique). I used YarnArt Jeans (55% Cotton 45% Acrylic; 50 gr/160m/174 yds) and YarnArt Begonia (100% cotton, 50g/169m).
• Hook: 3 mm (for the hat), 2 mm (for the applique).
• Scissors.
• Needle.

Size: With the material suggested in this guide, the hat will be:
• Head girth - 51 cm (20 inches)
• Bottom diameter - 15 cm (ca. 6 inches)
• Crown height - 8 cm (3,1 inches)
• Brim length — 5,5 cm (2,3 inches)
If you use thicker yarn, the hat will be bigger.
This Panama hat is sized for children, teenagers or adults with a head circumference of 51 cm.

To crochet a Panama hat in adult size, you need to make the bottom larger, the sides a little longer and the brim larger.
I add the detailed dimensions of the Panama hat for adults with a head circumference of 55 cm here:
Head girth - 55 cm (22,04 inch)
Bottom diameter - 16,5 cm (6,4 inch)
Crown height - 9-10 cm (3,5 - 3,9 inch)
Brim length - 6-7 cm (2,3 - 2,7 inch)

The pattern is worked using US Crochet Terms. Conversions to UK terms are shown below in parentheses:
mr - magic ring
ch - chain stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc - single crochet (dc - double crochet)
hdc – half double crochet (htr – half treble crochet)
dc – double crochet (tr – treble crochet)
dc cluster - double crochet cluster (tr cluster – treble crochet cluster). Yarn over, insert the hook through the indicated stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch. Yarn over and pull the yarn through 2 loops. Repeat between * and * 2 more times. You’ll have 4 loops on your hook now. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all 4 loops.
bpsc - back post single crochet (bpdc - back post double crochet) detailed step-by-step instructions with photos are included.
reverse sc – reverse single crochet (reverse dc – reverse double crochet) detailed step-by-step instructions with photos are included.
tr – treble crochet (dtr – double treble crochet)
inc - increase
