Due to popular demand, I am sharing this yoke pattern that I created for my version of Kate Davies’ Paper Dolls jumper.

You will need to purchase the Paper Dolls pattern from Kate Davies Designs in order to make the garment. You can find the pattern here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/paper-dolls

The chart on this page is the same size as the original Paper Dolls chart. However, the second and third decreases (rows 30 and 33) are off-set to accommodate the colourwork. A larger chart is on the second page along with helpful notes.

My paper hearts, called the Wizard of Awesomeness can be found here: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/CorynaBlasko/paper-dolls

You can work directly from the chart as is, or substitute your own colour sequence using the CC1 and CC2 placements as the foundation of the design. In the end I didn’t work the little peaks on rows 42-45. It didn’t seem necessary with the corrugated ribbing on the collar. Listen to your yarn and have fun!

Use this chart as a rough guide in terms of colour placement. The hearts and attendant borders can be made in various shades; think luscious tonals or a series of brights.

Just be aware of pattern ‘overlap’. For example, the little diamonds between the bottoms of the hearts will be the same colour as the hearts. If you want them to be a different colour you can either carry three strands (being sure to trap long floats) or you can duplicate stitch them on afterwards. Same concept applies with the design inside the hearts. The CC2 can also be worked in a third colour if you like.

Consider variegated or self striping yarn for your colourwork, it will take care of the colour changing work for you without all those pesky ends to sew away at the end.

Enjoy your paper hearts.

I just know you’ll make something beautiful!
