I might have a mild obsession with mini skein sets….. It all started around 2013 when mini-madness hit and one of my favorite dyers came out with mini sets. These were amazingly beautiful colors with coordinating skeins to show them off to their fullest. I was IN LOVE! The only problem was all my sets were with 10g minis and most of the patterns I saw were designed with 5g minis in mind. Fast forward 5 years and I am trying yet again to find the perfect pattern to use these beautiful colors to their fullest….. and I kept falling short. I wanted to make something squishy, easy to mindlessly knit, adjustable, and BIG! So the parallelogram stole was born.

This shawl is made with two color bands that each use 10, 10g mini skeins and the shawl body (center) that uses 100g of contrasting color and 4, 10g minis. You can easily adjust this to accommodate other mini sizes, scraps or even gradient sets. This is a very adaptable pattern that will allow for different weights of yarn as well as different amounts of yarn. Do you want it to be longer? Cast on more stitches during the shawl body and decrease the stitches per row on the color band. Do you have a 26 mini set? Add another 2 color stripes to the shawl body. Do you have an assortment of scraps? Russian join those bad boys together or use each one until you run out in place of all the mini sections. The possibilities are endless!

Note: 9 stitch markers are recommended but not required for this project.
